What does it mean for the athletes
It's hard to express in words what it means for athletes. PPTC, parents and families do all they can, but to really excel athletes need to compete at the major competitions in the State capitals. That is where they learn to handle the pressures of major meets, and really test their limits.
Sponsorship is, quite literally, life-changing for some athletes.
Eshana. Travels 380km weekly.
After school, I travel 160km twice a week to train in Cairns. By the time I return home it's been a 13-hour day! Sponsorship helps me to get to training and to competitions around around Australia.
Liam. Lives on a remote cattle station.
My family lives on a cattle station 6 hours west of Cairns. When in boarding school, I can train more easily, but at home I rely on remote coaching. Sponsorship to PPTC has enabled me to medal at national championships.
